  • Role: Transport Manager

    An experienced Transport Manager is needed to oversee a busy and challenging department. This is very much a hands-on role, in which you will provide vital support to the business, working closely with other departments to ensure we provide highly accurate, on-time deliveries to our customers. Managing 20 plus heavy good vehicles delivering to hotels across the Midland area.

    The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing or logistics background and be an experienced manager of a high performing team.

     

    • To take overall responsibility for the organisation of the Transport and Loading departments and provide strategic advice and planning support to the departments;
    • To be responsible for managing all drivers, scheduling of rotas, rest days and so on;
    • To manage recruitment and selection of drivers in conjunction with the HR Department;
    • To ensure the Company complies fully with all Ministry of Transport and VOSA legislation and requirements;
    • Evaluate and review daily route scheduling and ensure efficiency in designated routes;
    • Ensure safe systems of working for all staff under your responsibility including provision of all manual handling and other training activities;
    • Work within monthly financial budget constraints;
    • Monitor and manage individual staff performance and provide coaching and training as well as deal effectively with any performance or disciplinary matters in conjunction with the HR team

  • Position: Water Meter Reader


    Salary: £18,000 per annum


    Location: Birmingham. West Midlands

    Hours of Work: 40- Approximately

    Shifts: Hours are to be worked flexibly Monday- Friday (Some evening and weekend work will be required to successfully acquire the reads required)

     

    You will provide a critical role in ensuring customers receive accurate and up to date bills by collecting data from water meters. You£ll update meter reads accurately throughout the day on your state of the art handheld device.

     

    On your first day you£ll meet your Team Leader who will guide you through an induction and ensure you have all the equipment needed. Over your first 2 weeks you£ll work with an experienced mentor who will teach you everything you need to know.

    Once you feel confident to go out alone, your work will be allocated to you via your hand held device and you£ll plan your days based on the location the work is in. You£ll make your way to your first property using the fully expensed van we provide. Once you arrive and you£ve read the meter, which can be wireless or manual, you£ll record the information accurately on your handheld device.

    You will work independently and will have the motivation to work quickly and efficiently.

    Salary: £30,000- £33,000 per annum  - DOE

    As Shift Manager you'll be working on behalf of one our key customers on a full time, permanent basis across a 5 out of 7 days pattern.

    The shifts on-site are;

    * 0600-1400 

    * 1400-2200

     Duties: 
    £ Lead and manage the team on your shift to achieve KPI's in line with the customer's expectations
