Role: Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £55,000-£57,000 per annum 
 
 
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Architect to work within an Infrastructure Domain during a time of significant change and transformation as this organisation drives the focus of IT delivery away from legacy technologies and fully exploits the opportunities that cloud technologies can provide.
 
This position will play a key role in creating and evolving technology roadmaps that will drive the adoption of modern technology.
 

Job Description:

Looking for someone with a solid Infrastructure, Cloud, and Collaboration technology background to be responsible for defining IT strategy and roadmaps, aligning them with business strategies and capability requirements, and socialising and promoting them with senior partners.

You will support and contribute to solution designs as both a specialist and a representative of the strategic viewpoint. You will be involved in proof of concept exercises to prove new reference architecture patterns and business benefits. 


As part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture team you will engage at a strategic level, influencing policy, and setting direction for technical and business change. 

 Responsibilities:

A broad IT and Infrastructure background with experience preferably in infrastructure solutions or enterprise architecture roles where you will have gained experience of large scale infrastructure deployments.

Focused approach on strategic alignment of technical design and architecture to meet business growth and direction.

Demonstrable experience of providing internal consultancy on potential uses and appropriateness of infrastructure technologies and driving benefits from these technologies.

A breadth of understanding of large scale infrastructure technologies, with specific specialism in one of the following technologies:

Unified Communications and Collaboration Tooling – ideally Office 365 including the use of enterprise voice services.

Identity - including Single Sign On, SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Role Based Access Control, and Federation technologies.

Secure Cloud Computing - including Infrastructure Security Controls, Infrastructure Management Processes and Tools, and experience with public cloud providers – ideally Azure and AWS.

Ability to work under broad direction in ambitious environments, playing a key role in influencing strategic decision making and understand strategic consequences of IT decisions.

Experience of engaging at a strategic level and playing a key role of influencing, building and maintaining strong working relationships with partners at a senior level in order to achieve successful outcomes for the business.

Capability to articulate technical solutions to technical and non-technical people.

Able to work effectively in pressurised situations and can be relied upon to deliver, irrespective of circumstances.

The successful applicant for this role will need to be eligible for and willing to undergo SC clearance following appointment in to the post.
