Southport Art Festival - May 10th-12th 2019

Art, Theatre, Comedy, Poetry, Laughter, Pottery, Jazz, Dance and Choirs…

This is Southport Festival.....

Over three days, Southport bursts into life with a huge programme of art and culture splashed throughout its venues and open spaces. Memories are waiting to be made around every corner. Interactive street drawing, community dance performances and superb theatre create unforgettable experiences. Music, dance performances and laughter fill the street.

As music pours from venues throughout the town centre, with jazz orchestras, flamenco guitar, folk, jive and pop punk bands just some of the excellent free performances you can expect.

Look out this year for stunning family street theatre, big name soul singers and superb dance performance throughout.

Discover live acts in venues and open spaces throughout the town.  From breathtaking harpists in shopping arcades to punk bands in the gardens – there is something for every taste

Discover new artists in our range of pop up exhibitions or learn a new skill yourself with interactive art demo’s.  Every generation can get involved.  If you are an artist who would love to be involved – get in touch now.

The Southport Festival experience is in it’s variety.  We have comedy, poetry, dance, spectacle and theatre.  Why not plan in something totally different to your festival weekend and enjoy a whole new experience.

Southport Festival is brought together through collaboration and a united sense of wanting to bring art, culture and colour to Southport.

The festival is directed by a steering group of representatives from Southport BID, Sefton Council, Southport Contemporary Arts, The Atkinson and The SDC alongside passionate members of the local arts community.

Funded and resourced by Southport BID and Sefton Council the festival is now in its fourth year, having been emerged from the annual Arts Trail and Jazz Festival before it.

The festival wouldn’t of course be possible without the enthusiasm and participation of the brilliant businesses, partners and venues involved.

Our aims are to bring together communities, art forms and local talent and businesses to create a diverse festival that truly has something to offer everyone!
